There is nothing new under the sun
 March 2004

Sun, where have you gone?
Do you at this moment watch
The pain brought in by dawn?
You crown the height of the hill,
severed by a sword
of one word.

Why do you refuse to shine
And brush away the scars?

When will you return to us
To grace us with your light?

So we may mend the shattered trust,
And bring back the power of right?
Every day you move through the sky,
Your age is neither young nor old…
In the morning you are gold,
In the evening gentle breeze.

Are you at ease?
Well, no one knows
What the sun feels,
The secret of an only sky,
The sun commands…

The day to rise,
And night to fall.

Some people think you are a God,
To me it sounds odd.
For me you are a bright friend,
and friendship should not end.

But in an instant my eyelids became the heaviest of drapes,
Determined to shut out the sun…
I fell asleep once again!
